Details

Ireland vintage rugby shirt.

This retro rugby shirt from Ireland faithfully reproduces the model that Ireland wore in the tournament of the Five Nations of 1926. This edition was one of the first in which 3 states participated in the tournament after Ireland became independent from the United Kingdom in 1921. The tournament began on January 3 and ended on April 2 in 1926.

The Ireland national rugby union team played a great tournament winning all their games except the one against Wales in which the Irish lost 11 to 8. This led the Shamrock team to be first, tied with Scotland who won all their matches except the game against Ireland.

The Shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland. Its conception goes back to the time of St. Patrick, when he tried to explain the Holy Trinity to the Celts. It is traditional that on St. Patrick's Day (March 17) the cities and pubs of Ireland and the rest of the world are filled with trees.

Classic Irish rugby polo shirt, 100% high-weight cotton, green with the Shamrock shield on the chest. High quality product for rugby fans and vintage fashion enthusiasts.
