Australia 1991 Retro Rugby Shirt

In 1991, the Wallabies surprised with their first rugby world title. Australia began its incredible decade of winning two of the three World Cups played. At the World Cup in England, they succeeded in exacerbating the host by winning the final in the Temple of Twickenham. This World Cup was the first to be held in Europe. The main organizing country was England, but games were also played in France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales (the countries of the then 5 nations).

The tour of the Australian team in the tournament was immaculate winning all their matches, led by David Campese who was chosen the best player in the tournament (top scorer of tries with 6). In the semifinals against the All Blacks, Campese gave what is considered the best attendance in history so that Tim Horan could score his trie. An adequate balance for a champion team. Queen Elizabeth II handed the William Webb Ellis Cup to the Wallabies.

Australian rugby knew how to wait for their moment and gathered an exceptional generation of players in the 90s. In those wallabies they played Nick-Farr Jones, David Campese or Michael Lynagh. In a country where rugby competes with a lot of sports, including the Australian rules version, those players managed to get rugby to 15 win positions in the appreciation of the Australians.
